What is Make A Difference Day?

2017 Make A Difference Day

#Community Harvest Campaign

Make A Difference Day is the single largest national day of community service. Held annually over the past 25 years on the fourth Saturday of October, it is a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. On this ONE day millions of Americans will unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others. And, we're standing up in our community to do the same!

In 2013, GGHF took on the development of the first Gig Harbor & Key Peninsula (GHKP) Make a Difference Day celebration. Working together with dozens of area organizations and volunteers each year we’ve raised and distributed over $30,000 in addition to direct donations of thousands of pounds of food, coats, blankets, and more to area programs working to help meet a variety of vital needs across our community.

On 10.28.17, the community is invited to join in the 2017 #Community Harvest Project. We'll be collecting, sorting and boxing up ingredients for 12,000 crockpot meals - an estimated 70,000 lbs of food - that will help provide nutritious meals for 425 area families in need each weekend between November and the end of the school year. Sign up to Volunteer.
