Mr. Sadler’s professional experience includes accounting and consulting services to Brink & Sadler accounting and auditing business clients. He provides personal financial, tax and estate planning to many of the firm’s individual clients.

Tom and his wife Sharon have lived in Gig Harbor since 1993. They enjoy boating around the beautiful Puget Sound, golfing and attending the many Gig Harbor community events.


Until his retirement in 2015, Tom was responsible for the firm’s litigation-related services, including preparation of business valuations for estate tax returns, marital or stockholder dissolutions and sales and acquisitions. He also investigates and provides accounting assistance on other business issues involved in litigation.

He graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 1968. In that year he joined Johnson, Paulson & Stolz (now Ernst & Young), becoming a CPA in 1969. He partnered with Donald R. Brink CPA in 1972, forming the CPA firm Brink & Sadler. Tom is a member of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of CPAs and is past Chair of the Washington Society’s Litigation Services Committee.

Over his career, Tom earned specialty designations from the American Institute of CPAs as Accredited in Business Valuation and Certified in Financial Forensics. He was also a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Mr. Sadler was named one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People in 2009” by Accounting Today Magazine. He is a past member and past chair of the Washington State Board of Accountancy. He recently served the Washington State Board of Accountancy as Deputy Director and Strategic Advisor. He is a past Chair of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).

In addition to Mr. Sadler’s numerous professional accomplishments, he is also a founding member of the Lakewood Community Foundation where he has served in various capacities since its formation in 1999, a past president of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Lakewood, and a former member of the Tacoma/Pierce County Economic Development Board. Named by the Lakewood Rotary Club as Rotarian of the Year in 2003, he has been a Rotarian for over three decades.

Tom joined the GGHF Board of Directors in 2013 and has served terms as both secretary and president. Additionally, he has assisted in development of the Foundation's Heritage Endowment Fund and chaired the Social Capital CAB, which leads programs as our community's Make A Difference Day #Community Harvest efforts and the Removing Barriers project.
