On May 12, 2012, the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation brought the first Gig Harbor Beer Festival to the offerings of community-based events.
Our inaugural Beer Festival was a rousing success, with over 1,200 people in attendance and representation from 11 northwest breweries that included:
7 Seas Brewing, Gig Harbor
Harmon Brewing Company, Tacoma
Silver City Brewery, Bremerton
Valholl Brewing Company, Poulsbo
Sound Brewery, Poulsbo
Der Blokken Brewery, Bremerton
Dick’s Brewing Company, Centralia
Everybody’s Brewing, White Salmon
American Brewing Company, Edmonds.
Port Townsend Brewing Co., Port Townsend
Hood Canal Brewery, Kingston
Event proceeds were distributed across five core areas of support for community-based initiatives such as sponsorship for the 6th Annual Gig Harbor Street Scramble, the Peninsula School District’s 10th Annual Students of Distinction Scholarship program, and the Maritime Legacy project, and other community projects centered on needs across our greater peninsula communities.
